    Patricia Orlando
    School: Nassau Community College, Associates Degree, Liberal Arts and Science

    Patricia Orlando was born and raised on Long Island. She received her associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Nassau Community College.

    Patricia started her career at Veterinary Referral & Emergency center of Westbury in the fall of 2007 and worked in the reception and billing departments. She was promoted to Client Care Representative Supervisor in 2008 and then advanced to the Office Manager position in early 2010 taking over the administration of HR, Benefits and Payroll. She was promoted to Hospital Manager in October of 2010 and continues to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital. 

    In her spare time Patricia enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs. She also enjoys reading, gardening and spending time outdoors.

  • Office Manager

    Sabrina Caruso

    Sabrina has always had a love for animals so much so that at 15 years old her mom took her to get her first job at the local animal shelter. In 2010 after working at the shelter for 20 years Sabrina began a new chapter and joined the VCA family working as Client Care Representative Supervisor at one of their Manhattan locations. In 2015 she joined the Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury family as the Office Manager where she works closely with the Hospital Administrator.

    During her free time Sabrina enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. They enjoy spending time at the beach and doing outdoor activities.

  • Referral Manager

    Lori Shindle
    School: Stockton Univeristy, B.A.

    Lori's experience in the veterinary field began in 2006 when she started working at VCA Freehold Animal Hospital in New Jersey as a Client Care Representative and then as a Patient Care Coordinator while she was in college. Lori received a B.A. in communications from Stockton University and began a career in the fine wine and spirits industry. She worked for Allied Beverage one of New Jersey's largest and most comprehensive wine and spirits distributors that ranks among the ten largest such distributors in the United States. Her work experience includes an extensive background in sales marketing, customer support and promotions. After 6 years in the fine wine and spirits industry she entered into a freelance career representing a diverse and elite roster of start-ups and global brands with a concentration on Social Media and Digital Marketing. In 2013 Lori rejoined VCA at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan where she worked as a Client Care Representative and then was promoted to Referral Manager in 2014 building relationships with clients and referring veterinarians in the community.

    In April 2016 Lori made the transition to Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury taking on the Referral Manager position. Lori Works closely with the referring veterinarians in the community as well as our doctors. She is instrumental in facilitating educational opportunities for general practitioners in the form of Continuing Education (CE), Lunch and Learns and newsletters as well as with marketing our specialty practice. She loves her job because it  allows her to create and maintain amazing, one of a kind relationships with referring veterinarians to ensure the well being of the hospital's patients!

    While not at work, Lori can be found spending time with her family and friends, traveling, or enjoying the great outdoors especially the beach.

  • Facilities Manager

    Linda Heselton
    School: Aldephi University, B.S. (Chemistry)

    Linda Heselton is Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury's Facilities and Purchasing Manager. Prior to joining the staff in March 2003, she worked in general practices as kennel worker, surgery technician and hospital administrator. She has always been interested in the veterinary field, and she enjoys helping our staff attain their highest goals.

    In her free time, Linda enjoys spending time with her family, which includes three furry members, Staffordshire terriors "Queenie" and "Cinnamon," and one cat, "Peanuts." She also enjoys going to the beach and gardening.
