  • Hospital Administrator

    Bridget Monson, BS, MHA
    School: University of Minnesota

    Bridget Monson was raised in Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in 1993 with a Management and Finance Degree. She completed her Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from Carlson School of Management in 2006. She started her career working in healthcare management at specialty clinics including Occupational Health, OB/GYN and Dermatology. Bridget had an opportunity after graduating with her Master’s Degree to join the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center as the Specialties Manager. She was promoted to Director of Small Animal Receiving Services. In 2009, she was part of the team of veterinary professionals that opened the first BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Minnesota. Bridget returned to the Veterinary Medical Center in 2011 as Director of Customer Service.

    Bridget is excited to become part of VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and bring her 25 years of healthcare management, client service and finance experience to the team. Bridget has two adult children and two dogs. Zeus is a 14 year old American Eskimo and Hercules is an 8 year old Papillon Eskimo. Bridget is a sports enthusiast and will forever be a Minnesota Gopher fan.
     


  • Assistant Manager

    Samantha Howe

    Samantha was born and raised on the east coast before moving to Los Angeles. She began working at a local veterinary hospital as a front office staff member shortly after relocating. Samantha continued her veterinary education and worked her way up to a supervisory role and eventually a management role. After managing a small general practice facility, Samantha was invited to join the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital management team. Her professional interests include staff development and providing an exceptional client experience through staff training and education.

    Samantha enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, daughter, and greyhound mix “Crenshaw.”
     


  • Office Supervisor

    Adalaine Lang

    Addie has been with VCA for 10 years and joined our team all the way from the VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, Connecticut where she worked as an overnight kennel assistant. She transferred to VCA All Care in Southern California as an overnight emergency room assistant. In 2011 Addie joined VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital as a phone operator lead and is currently the phone office supervisor. Addie resides in the valley with “Pedro”, her precious toy fox terrier.


  • Office Manager

    Bryce Hershenow, RVT

    Bryce Hershenow was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He began working at a 24 hour emergency practice in 2009 as an assistant, shortly thereafter he realized he had found his passion and became an RVT. Bryce continued his veterinary education and training working as a supervisor at Atlantic Street Pet Emergency Center while working for the University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Small Animal Anesthesia, and a specialty and referral practice in San Francisco as a supervisor and referral relations manager. In 2015 Bryce moved to Denver, Colorado and worked in critical care medicine at a local specialty hospital, while going back to school for health care management. When Bryce moved back to California, he knew that he not only wanted to continue his management career, but he also knew he wanted to be a part of the VCA West Los Angles Animal Hospital team. Bryce is very excited to be one of our Co-Office Managers, and looks forward to growing with the hospital.

    Outside of work you can find Bryce exploring beaches and hiking trails with his dog, Foley.


  • Office Manager

    Brittany Hwang

    Brittany Hwang is a Los Angeles native who graduated from UCLA with a major in biology and minor in art history. She has always had a strong interest in animals and volunteered at the West LA Animal Shelter during school. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she then began her career in the veterinary field in general practice as a receptionist and was soon promoted to a shift lead. She was particularly interested in helping open new hospital locations and onboarding/training new associates. She then continued her career path as a client care department lead and extended her veterinary experience to a specialty and emergency animal hospital, ultimately bringing her client experience skills to VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital as a Co-Office Manager.

    Outside of work, Brittany enjoys indoor cycling, cooking/baking and hiking with her two Boston Terriers, Bella and Ducky.


  • Referral Coordinator

    Sol Bermudez

    Sol has been a part of the Veterinary field since 1999. She started in a specialty hospital and soon fell in love with the field when she learned about the different ways animals could be helped through the specialty departments. As a Referral Coordinator, she aides as a liaison between the hospital and referring veterinarians and ensures a timely transfer of patients and records. In addition, Sol helps build and strengthen relationships between our specialists and the veterinary community. She arranges visits to local veterinary hospitals to help acquaint community veterinarians with our veterinarians as well as our specialty and hospital services. Sol takes pride in creating positive relationships with clients, patients and veterinary professionals.

    When away from work Sol enjoys spending time with her family and loves to make handmade crafts.
     


  • Referral Coordinator

    Karla Martinez-Mendoza

    Karla joined the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital team in 2007 as a Referral Coordinator Assistant. She has since become a Referral Coordinator, building professional relationships with our clients �" community veterinarians -- in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. Karla has an avid interest in learning about the medical aspects of the specialty cases seen at the hospital and thoroughly enjoys expanding upon her medical knowledge from our specialists. She ensures that we maintain a professional relationship with our referring veterinarians and her utmost priority is to ensure efficient communications between our hospital and the veterinary community. Karla assists in marketing the specialty practice by introducing our veterinarians to the clinics in and around the area; conducting successful lunch and learns and maintaining an open communications channel with our clients. Karla is instrumental in organizing our Continuing Education lectures held at the hospital on a monthly basis for veterinarians, technicians and the support staff.

    Karla enjoys spending time with her family which includes an Amazon parrot, a Green Cheeked Conure, and a Maltipoo. She also enjoys watching movies, potting beautiful succulents and crocheting among other fun craft projects.
     


  • Referral Coordinator

    Zowie Vasquez

    Zowie Vasquez has worked for VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital for over fifteen years. She has worked in the reception, supervising and training departments and has extensive knowledge of how our hospital operates. When a pet is referred for specialized care or treatment to VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, the Referral Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the process. Clients or referring veterinarians may contact the Referral Coordinator directly to obtain the initial appointment with one of our specialists. If a client is being referred by another hospital, please indicate that information upon check-in at the reception desk, so the appropriate paperwork can be generated.

    Referral Coordinator Zowie Vasquez is available weekdays to meet with clients and answer any questions that they may have about VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital or about the referral process. She also keeps referring veterinarians informed about their clients' visits to our hospital. Zowie can be reached Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.


  • Referral Manager

    Leslie Hair

    Prior to her current position as Referral Director with VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, Leslie was a twenty-five year veteran of the luxury hospitality industry. She served as the vice President of Marketing for a Los Angeles based Event Planning and Production Company for 14 years. A graduate of Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona with a B.A. in Marketing, her work experience includes an extensive background in sales, public relations and promotions. Leslie worked for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company when the hotel was honored with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1992 �" the most prestigious award for the service industry.

    A self-described military brat born into a navy family in Yokosuka, Japan, Leslie has resided in a variety of countries. With a lust for travel she has backpacked through more than a dozen countries in East and Western Europe as well as East Africa and South America. Leslie was a student in the UCLA Writing Program, and writes marketing and public relations articles for trade publications.

    Leslie is a devoted mother, enjoys the great outdoors, event planning, photography, and baking. She has spent several years volunteering for a variety of animal rescue organizations and was involved with fundraising efforts for the Jane Goodall Foundation.

    Bill Farr is Facilities Manager with VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital.


  • Purchasing/Pharmacy Manager

    Melissa Gillett

    Melissa began working for VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in October 2003, directly after graduating from Pharmacy School at United Education Institute. She is now head of the Pharmacy department, supervising the day-to-day operations. Her duties include, but are not limited to, filling medication refill requests, answering clients’ questions regarding their pets’ medications, filling our Cubex machines, and assisting clients at check out.

    In her spare time Melissa loves spending time with her husband Jerrell, two boys Jerrell Jr. and Jayden, and her furry daughter, Ivory (her Malti-Poo). They love playing baseball together, going to the beach or trying out different restaurants!
