  • Jesse

    -Julie Jager from Marysville, WA
    Pet Name: Jesse

I had my Golden Retriever, Jesse for 15 wonderful years. During that time, he had two episodes of gastroenteritis with bloody diarrhea and dehydration. Each time I took him to VCA Specialty hospital and he received excellent care. Both times he was treated efficiently and came home a couple days later with a smile on his face. When he was almost 15, he developed nasal cancer. The doctors at VCA hospital examined Jesse and gave me options for his care. They were very honest and informative about his prognosis. Instead of invasive treatments and toxic medications, I chose to bring Jesse home and make him as comfortable as possible. He had two happy months until he had a seizure and I brought him to VCA Specialty hospital. I knew it was time to say goodbye. The doctor there was so caring and compassionate. I am so grateful that VCA Specialty Hospital is nearby. I am very impressed with their doctors and the level of care I have received.

  • My Knees

    -Pebbles Landowski from Roy, WA
    Pet Name: Pebbles

Hi, my name is Pebbles Landowski and I'm a 9 year old Havanese. One morning, I tried to get up, but I couldn't. My mommy & daddy took me to see Dr. Christensen who thought I might have a neurological problem. She referred me to the VCA Veterinary Specialty Center in Lynnwood. I saw Dr. Kimberly Krug who gave me a very thorough exam. I was so scared and I was in so much pain. Her impression was that my problems were orthopedic. She wanted me to spend the night so that my pain could be controlled and I would be seen by the Orthopedic Doctors in the morning. They found out that I had injured both of my knees, so surgery was done on them. Dr. Courtney Watkins called my mommy everyday with a report on my condition. She is so sweet! They put me on a very soft pad while I was recovering from the surgery. I liked it so much that I stayed an extra day. The doctors, the techs, and the staff at the front desk were all so very nice and very loving. The care I received was the best. Well, I'm back to my normal self, walking and playing. THANK YOU so much for helping me.

  • Best staff and doctors ever

-Sandy Barker Helen Gotcher from oak harbor, WA

We want to thank you for doing everything possible to save Max. It was very sad to see him go, he was a big part of our family and we miss him dearly. Please tell Dr. King my mom has a new little puppy. She got him 4 weeks ago and he is the perfect little puppy for her. He is a black miniature schnauzer like Max was. My mom is so happy -she didn't want another dog but after I told her Dr. King thought it would be good for her - she changed her mind. Thank you Dr. King, that little puppy will keep her going for another 10 years. Thanks again, to the best Veterinarian Hospital in the Northwest.
Sincerely, Helen Gotcher and Sandy Barker

  • Thank you

    -Debra from Seattle, WA
    Pet Name: Harry

I had never been to VCA Veterinary Spec. Center in Lynnwood before, so going in to their ER at 11pm, made me nervous. Mainly because I was going with my cat who suddenly couldn't walk. He was crying and it was hard to watch. As soon as I walked in though, the front desk was so efficient in getting me help. A tech came right up and got my cat to the ICU. Even though I ended up having to euthanize my cat, every person at the clinic was so nice and compassionate. I really appreciated that they let me spend time with him and even made me a beautiful clay paw print. Thank you for making a hard night, as comfortable as it could be.

  • Great care of my furbaby

    -Julie from Seattle, WA

My cat Murphy has a heart condition and has been to the VCA in Lynnwood on multiple occasions for emergency care and treatment. He always gets such great care and the veterinarians, techs and staff are always friendly, compassionate, informative and helpful, even when it's an emergency visit in the wee hours of the morning. Dr. Woodfield is Murphy's cardiologist and takes such wonderful care of Murphy even when it's a follow-up visit at my regular vet (I love that Dr. Woodfield travels as it's less stress on Murphy to only have to go a couple miles from home instead of always to Lynnwood! Thank you Dr. Woodfield!) Both Dr. Woodfield and everybody at the VCA take such great care of Murphy every time and I would highly recommend Dr. Woodfield and the VCA to anybody. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Woodfield and everybody at the VCA!

  • Babie

    -Natasha T from DuPont, WA
    Pet Name: Babie

I brought my dog Babie in for a routine cardiology workup. The staff was so warm and cheerful, Babie was actually calm and happy to be there. I was a very worried mom, with her heart conditions I am always worried about her stress level. The techs and Dr. Schlater were just amazing! They kept my little girl calm and happy. Thank you

    -natalie from everett, WA
    Pet Name: Goose

I cannot give enough thanks or praise to Dr. Anya Gambino, Dr. Susan Magestro, and the dedicated ER staff. My young kitten, Goose, suffered a severe accident, and had immediate, life-threatening head trauma. Immediately when I arrived around 4 in the morning, Dr. Magestro stabilized little Goose and made sure to tell me that, although he was in a critical situation, his outlook was still positive. Later in the day, Dr. Gambino took over and kept me informed over the phone, answering every question I had with kindness and patience. 3 days later, Goose had made an amazing recovery and was back to his normal self and able to return home. Dr. Gambino is such an amazing vet. She clearly cares deeply about all her patients, and gives EVERYBODY the one-on-one time that they need. She was there every step of the way to give me progress reports and ensure me that Goose was improving. She made me feel like my pet was her number one focus. Dr. Magestro handled the first moment I arrived with such compassion and was so compassionate. All the ER staff are friendly, and really make you feel sure that your pet in the best hands. I cannot say thank you enough and would with out a doubt recommend VCA to anyone needing care. THANK YOU VCA!!

  • Odie

    -Monica from Startup, WA
    Pet Name: Odie

Pet Image Our family beagle, Odie, was recently diagnosed with diabetes mellitus by our local vet. A day after we got her started on her insulin shots, she quit eating, which meant we couldn't give her insulin. Her health was going down hill fast and our vet told us to take her to VCA and I am so glad we did. They immediately took her back and started tests to see what was going on. It was really hard on our family to see her like this and it took a weight off our shoulders knowing she was in the best possible care available. They didn't make us feel pressured or uncomfortable, they just gave us all the information we needed to know. We were able to call and visit her any time we wanted during her 3 night stay and each time we saw her, she looked better and better. This place is fully staffed and they have all the necessary equipment they need to treat your animal. I would recommend VCA to anybody with an ill or injured pet. They were wonderful with us and our dog, and we were so lucky that Odie was in such great care. Thanks to all the veterinarians and techs that took care of our family member!

  • Thank You VCA

    -Linda S from Lynnwood, WA
    Pet Name: Sugar

Pet Image Our precious 17 yr old Feline (and family member), SUGAR, finally had to leave us after 10 yrs of Renal Failure--but remained Active and Healthy MOST of that time (Thanks in part to another VCA location, before 44th opened)...I had been anxious for awhile as to how I would Cope with her Euthanasia, if that time ever came (never had experienced it before --and dreaded, but heard positive AND Negative accounts from people over the years) Bottom Line--Sunday, Sept 29th, 2013, our lil' girl passed in the comfort of my arms @ VCA with the SYMPATHETIC, COMPASSIONATE, DIGNIFIED CARE of DR. LEAF and her assistant BECCA. What a difference it made in such a difficult time to be accommodated with a well-informed, detail-oriented precess AND such PATIENCE from the now we can Celebrate her Memorable 17 yr history with us, instead of any regrets in her final moments!! Thanks Again VCA, Linda S.

  • Thank you

-John and Linda Kipling from Langley, WA
    Pet Name: Yukon

We want to let the entire staff know how much we appreciate all the little things they did for our Yukon and for us at a very difficult time. We felt true compassion from everyone we dealt with and it made losing our buddy a little less painful. We still miss him. Thank you all for what you do.

Emergency Care

In case of emergency, please call us immediately 425-697-6106

VCA Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle is here for you and your pet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No matter what the time of day or night we have a veterinarian and vet techs here to answer your questions and provide you and your pet with care in an emergency situation.

Our emergency service is designed to be an extension of the services provided by your primary care veterinarian. When your vet is not available, our doctors and nursing staff are here to provide the emergency care your pet needs. In addition to emergency services, we are able to provide intensive care for critically ill pets that have been referred by primary care veterinarians.

Many patients are treated as outpatients. Should your pet require ongoing care, we may recommend that you return to your primary care veterinarian when the day practice opens. For unstable patients in need of further evaluation, arrangements can be made for continued hospitalization and when needed, evaluation by one of our specialists.
