January 17 - Pain Management
This lecture will begin by reviewing the pathophysiology of pain and methods of assessing pain in our small animal patients. We will then discuss various pain management options including their mechanisms of action, benefits, and potential side effects or contraindications. Finally we will discuss the benefits of multimodal approach to pain management.

February 16 - CPCR: The role of preparation in a Smooth Resuscitation
This course will review the indications for performing CPCR and how to assess patients. We will also discuss the steps involved in CPCR, and how to utilize a veterinary team to ensure a smooth resuscitation effort. We will also review the basic equipment needs for CPCR and communicating with client before, during and after CPCR.

April 19 - The Pregnant Bitch & Neonatal Care
This lecture is designed to give the technician and assistant a better understanding of caring for the pregnant bitch and care of the neonatal puppies. We will cover all aspects of the breeding process including but no limited to breeding the bitch, care of the bitch during pregnancy, whelping, c-sections, puppy resuscitation, neonatal care and emergencies.

May 15 - Case Discussion on Anesthesia and Anesthetic Emergencies
This lecture will be a discussion on common anesthetic procedures and tips for how to minimize patient morbidity. There will be a case examples for anesthetic complications and a discussion on how approach them correctly and confidently.

June 14 - Interpretation and Treatment of EKG Rhythms
This lecture is a review of normal and abnormal EKG rhythms. We will discuss normal cardiac complexes on an EKG and what the various parts represent, as well as discuss abnormal complexes, what disease they could represent and the various treatments. We will conclude the lecture with a review of practice cases and a discussion on what was done and what could have been done better.
