Appointments

VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Appointments are required for specialty care visits, but emergency cases are accepted at any time. If your general practitioner veterinarian has referred your pet to us, the pet is diagnosed and treated, then sent back to your regular veterinarian for any follow up care. Our specialists will work in concert with your regular veterinarian to provide seamless care for your pet. Please note, new patients should arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to their appointment time so that their medical chart can be prepared.

Specialty appointments are scheduled depending on specialists schedules. Call for an appointment.

The hospital emergency hours are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The hospital's visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. We request that clients call the hospital prior to visitation.

If you are in doubt about your appointment needs, please call us, and we will be more than happy to assist you.) Within 1 business day after you fill out the form, we will call you to confirm the date and time of your pet's appointment with you.

VCA Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is a fully-equipped 24/7/365 emergency hospital serving pets and their people in Norwalk and the surrounding communities in Fairfield County and southwestern Connecticut. If you suspect your pet is having a medical crisis, our experienced team of veterinarians, technicians and assistants are here to assist you.

Our Emergency and Critical Care units can assist in all of the following situations requiring immediate medical attention: Auto accidents, traumatic injuries (fractures, bites, burns, lacerations, wounds), respiratory emergencies (choking, difficulty breathing), vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty urinating/defecating, shock, loss of consciousness, dizziness, staggering, tremors, seizures, paralysis, toxic reactions, poison ingestion, labor and delivery problems, blood in urine or feces, swollen, hard, painful abdomen, heatstroke.
