    -Heather from Andrews AFB, MD
    Pet Name: Rusty

The individual attention my dog received from your hospital was the best he's had. He was comfortable and actually had a good time there. The vet tech was very friendly and informative. Thank you!

    -Ann from Mechanicsville, MD
    Pet Name: Rocky and Lucy

Pet Image I have 2 dogs, both Jack Russell Terriers that have been treated from your facility & doctors. Rocky my oldest dog was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever spent 2 nights on Antibiotics and beat this condition. Lucy is my youngest and is 6 years old now, she was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer at the age of 2.9 she has been in remission ever since. These dogs are my children and I would bring them to VCA any time they had a life threatening situation. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

  • THANK YOU

    -Keith Givens from Hughesville, MD
    Pet Name: Sherman

We brought our dog for emergency care as he was in serious distress...the entire staff was wonderful from the moment we walked in. We couldn't save Sherman...but were given all the honest information we needed to make the right decision. I can't thank the staff enough for their compassionate care...both for our beloved family pet and for us. You guys are WONDERFUL.

  • Amazing care and compassion

-Tricia Dinger- Haynes from Ft. Bragg, NC
    Pet Name: Kitty

Pet Image Words cannot express how grateful/thankful I am to your clinic for your care on 8/30/2012 of our beloved Kitty. While on a trip to Pa, Kitty (who had been seriously ill earlier in the week, and had to be hospitalized) was being cared for by my Uncle in Waldorf, Md. While I was away, she had a relapse of severe respiratory distress and needed immediate care. Sensing that this situation was dire (and might not have the ending we would have hoped for) Uncle called ahead, brought Kitty to the clinic and was greeted by your staff at the front door. She was immediately examined, and unfortunately was found to be critically ill. No treatment at this point would have been able to save her life, and to end her suffering the decision was made to put her to sleep. Your staff, under the direction of Dr. Lisa Baker was sympathetic, compassionate and most concerned with Kitty's comfort through out the process. My cat (and most importantly my family) was treated with dignity and respect...kept informed and allowed to be present through each step of this emotional process. When Kitty's end came....she was wrapped in a warm soft blanket, held by my uncle in a quiet and peaceful room while the staff (nearby if needed) allowed him the time and privacy he needed. It was all over in a matter of minutes, and it could not have been a more peaceful and dignified end. When it was time to go, a member of the staff came forward with an imprint they had made of Kitty's pawprint, and gave it to my Uncle with their sincere sympathies. It was a fitting gift which I will treasure always. We choose to have Kitty cremated privately, so we could have her ashes returned to us. We were told they would be available on Friday 9/7/2010 and surprisingly they were ready today (9/5) and beautifully presented in a carved wooden box. Again your staff was compassionate and caring....and can NEVER be thanked enough for all that they did during this difficult time. Words will never be enough to describe how thankful I am for your care and concern....Kitty was a very much loved member of my family for more than 12 years, and her presence will be missed deeply! I don't know what we would have done had had your clinic not been so close. I wish the ending for us could have been different, but under the circumstances, We were blessed that you were there. Thank you again so much for your professionalism, concern and treatment of both the human and feline members of my family. I pray that we never need your services again, but it is a comfort to know that you are there for us if we do.

  • Thank You

-Laura Webb from California MD, MD
    Pet Name: Judge

Pet Image Thanks to Dr. Griffins and the staff at VCA Southern Maryland for showing such kindness, honesty and patience with me and my husband as we struggled to make treatment decisions for our 10 year old, much beloved Blue Tick named Judge. We will remember you with gratitude.

  • Thank you for caring, it shows

    -Bill Stevenson from Waldorf, MD
    Pet Name: Bill Stevenson

The care our dog, Angel, received this past weekend was all any pet owner could have asked for. She contracted Lymes disease, probably from a deer tick, and was shaking, lethargic and unable to walk. Within 24 hours VCA had diagnosed, prescribed and released our dog, who is now much better.

Phew a real stressful few days.

  • Thank you for your compassion

    -Bonnie from Colonial Beach, VA
    Pet Name: Casper

Pet Image On the night of July 16, 2011 my husband & myself came to VCA with my best friend Casper she had Pyometra and we had to have her put to sleep. Everyone in the office that night from the young lady at the front desk to the techs and especially Dr. Vandre Clear were extremely compassionate and caring. Dr. Vandre Clear tried every way she could to help to save my dog and I Thank her from the bottom of my heart! I have told everyone I know that if they have a pet emergency to go to VCA. A few days after we let Casper go we received a sympathy card in the mail signed by all the staff. There are no words to describe how I felt that night but I know I would go back to VCA for any emergencies. If only human doctors were so caring!
