Four abandoned kittens brought to our hospital by a good Samaritan were filthy and severely infected with fleas. After we cleaned these little babies up and treated them, one of our staff members fostered them, nursing them back to health.

VCA Southern Maryland Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center utilizes a state-of-the-art CT scanner system for greater patient comfort and safety, quicker exam times, and improved image quality for faster, more effective diagnosis and treatment. This is particularly important when determining the extent of injuries in trauma cases, where every second counts.

We have specialists on hand that work with your regular veterinarian to provide the best possible care for you and your pet. We are an extension of your regular veterinarian. Whether your pet needs to be seen by one of our specialists or an emergency doctor, our team is there for you. Afterward, everything that happens at VCA SMVRC is reported to your veterinarian in a timely manner, so that no one is left out of the loop.
