Biography

William FitzPatrick, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), MS completed a Bachelors degree with a double major in Biology and Spanish from the University of New Mexico in 1993. From there he went on to complete a Masters program in Toxicology from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 1995. Bill received his DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1999 and went on to complete a one year matched internship in Connecticut at New Haven Central Veterinary Hospital. After being in private practice for 5 years Dr. FitzPatrick decided to pursue his long-time goal of becoming an oncologist. He completed a 3-year oncology residency program under the supervision of Dr. Barbara Kitchell in 2009 from Michigan State University. Bill has been a VCA doctor since 2005 and recently joined VCA South Shore Weymouth in July of 2010 as a staff oncology doctor after relocating from Maryland. Dr. FitzPatrick received his board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine for Oncology in 2011. Bill's family includes his wife Jamie, son Nick, daughter Caitlin, and Cali (dog). In his free time, Dr. FitzPatrick enjoys listening to music, exercising, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
