Biography

Dr. Angelyn Cornetta graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She did an internship in small animal medicine and surgery and an internal medicine residency at the Animal Medical Center, where she received advanced training in endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and abdominal ultrasound. She then spent two years as a Clinical Instructor at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her board certification to become a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Cornetta joined the specialty staff at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital as Intern Director in 1998. Also, Dr. Cornetta provides expertise in the form of specialty endoscopy services for our hospitalized patients including placement of enteral feeding tubes. As Intern Director, she is not scheduled for primary appointments, enabling her to provide direct managerial consultation on cases admitted by our emergency service interns. This provides a unique teaching experience to our interns and quality specialty expertise to our valued clients referred through our 24-hour emergency service. Dr. Cornetta has considerable experience in critical care including transfusion medicine and nutritional support. She oversees our intensive care program in our newly remodeled 24-hour facility with a full range of critical care capabilities.
