Dr. Magne received his DVM degree at the University of Illinois in 1981 and completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery there in 1982. He was then at Colorado State University from 1982 to 1985 where he completed a residency, Master’s degree and board certification in small animal internal medicine. Following his residency at Colorado State University, he spent two years as staff internist at the Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital. He moved to Sonoma County in 1987 and is one of the original founders of the Animal Care Center. Since then he has served the Animal Care Center as an owner, partner, president of the Board, and as the current Medical Director and Senior Staff Internist. He is also a past president of the Redwood Empire Veterinary Medical Association, and served for 10 years on the Qualifying and Certifying Examination Committees for the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Magne lives with his partner, a clinical psychologist, and their two dogs in Forestville. His personal interests are music, photography, alpine hiking, and in October 2014 he successfully summited a 19,000 foot peak in the Mt. Everest region of Nepal.
