Hospital Administrator
Susan Corona
Ms. Corona has been in veterinary administration for 32 years. She started as a receptionist in 1977 in a small 3-doctor practice and continued to hone her business skills. As the practice grew to a fast paced 6-doctor practice she became the Practice Manager and stayed with them for 27 years. Continuing with the same passion that started her career many years ago she came to VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center shortly after they opened their doors.
Ms. Corona has a Golden-mix named 'Scarlett' and 2 cats; "Phinneaus & Ernie'. She loves hiking, reading, gardening and of course VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center.

Assistant Manager
Michele Papero
Veterinary Tech School: Quinnipiac University
Assistant Hospital Administrator Michele Papero is a Certified Veterinary Technician and graduate of the veterinary technology program at Quinnipiac University. She is also certified by the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) as a laboratory animal technologist. In addition, she holds a Master of Health Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. She became part of the VCA team in 2007.
Prior to working at VCA Shoreline, Michele spent 19 years as a research associate at the Yale School of Medicine where she worked on lab and field projects designed to understand tick and mosquito-borne diseases. She has co-authored scientific papers on the transmission of Lyme disease, Anaplasma, and West Nile virus, and the role wild mammals play in maintaining these diseases in nature. Michele has spent time volunteering on Native American reservations with the Rural Area Veterinary Services division of the Humane Society of the United States and participates yearly on the veterinary team of the Can-AM Crown 250 mile sled dog race in Northern Maine.
As VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center’s Assistant Hospital Administrator, Michele plays an active role in the daily operations of the hospital. She is veterinary technical assistant to cardiology specialist Dr. Nathaniel Fenollosa and coordinates patient care for the cardiology service. She also coordinates mobile imaging services, manages the hospital’s continuing education program and serves as the clinical coordinator for the Quinnipiac University Veterinary Technology extern program. In addition, Michele also manages hospital marketing, participates in regional marketing agendas and assists with compilation of the regional VCA Specialty hospital newsletter, Full Circle Forum.
