DVM, Colorado State University
Certifications: DACVIM/Neurology
Departments: Neurology

Dr. Lisa Klopp has published articles on veterinary and human neurological problems and has advanced the technology and treatment outcomes for brain tumors in dogs and cats. She advocates the use of minimally invasive endoscope-assisted neurosurgical procedures and is a proponent of interventional pain management and physical therapy for the neurological patient.

After graduating from Colorado State University’s veterinary school in 1992, Dr. Klopp completed a yearlong internship working with small animals at North Carolina State University, followed by a year of training in anatomic pathology at the University of Arizona. In 1997, she completed her residency in neurology and neurosurgery at Auburn University, earning a master’s degree studying surgical approaches to the brain stem in dogs. After teaching at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Colorado State University, Dr. Klopp began working in private practice in 2009 and has been with VCA SFVS since 2012.

In her spare time, she hangs out with her cat, Finnegan (aka “The Puzz”), and her horse, Gypsy. She loves to read, watch chick flicks with her mom, sing karaoke, and cheer on the Dallas Cowboys.
