Departments: Emergency/Critical Care
Dr. Elyse Hammer grew up in Northern California. She received her bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of California at Davis in 2007, before being accepted to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated at the top of her UC Davis class in 2011. Dr. Hammer completed her small-animal internship at VCA SFVS in 2012, realizing her love for anything and everything truly emergency, and developing a particular interest in toxicity cases. In her spare time, she enjoys running and “zoning out” at the gym, lots of reading, traveling and tasting wine with her husband, Brett, and hanging out with her cat, Nube.
