Biography
Dr. Ella Woods' lifelong love of companion animals and appreciation of the therapeutic role that they play in the lives of their humans led her to the practice of holistic veterinary medicine. She takes pride in building trust with her patients so that they feel more comfortable and cared for during their therapy. Dr. Woods holds a doctorate in acupuncture and Oriental medicine (DAOM) and has studied extensively in China and the U.S., completing a residency at Yue Yang Hospital, a leading research and teaching hospital in Shanghai. She is interested in the effective use of multiple modalities to treat complex disorders, while preserving and enhancing quality of life. She has published articles on managing antibiotic-resistant staph infections with integrative medicine and on the prevalence of the use of acupuncture in companion animals. Dr. Woods has presented her work at the North American Research Conference on Complementary and Integrative Medicine (NARCCIM). She is also an adjunct professor in the doctorate program at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco and has a thriving human practice in Pacifica.
