  • Technician

    Cheryl Hamilton

Cheryl received her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology in 1980 and has worked at VCA Sacramento Animal Medical Group since 1981, focusing her skills in anesthesia and surgical nursing. Cheryl joined our team in 2004 shortly after her own dog was treated for cancer. She appreciates the challenges our clients and their companions face, and caring for them has been very rewarding.

Cheryl lives in Elverta with her husband Steve, three children, and a menagerie of pets.

  • Technician

    Laurie Scott, RT (R) (T)

Laurie Scott found her way to the animal world through a long and winding path. She earned her Associates degree in Medical Radiography from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, then continued two more years to complete an Associates degree in Radiation Therapy. Laurie traveled around the country as a temporary therapist, before settling in Sacramento. She continued to treat people for another seven years until a unique opportunity presented itself.

When the VCA Highlands Cancer Treatment Center opened in 2000, she knew this was where she needed to be. As her colleagues would say, "She went to the dogs and has never been happier". Laurie shares her home with two cats, Oreo and Cookie, and two dogs, Bailey and Barnaby.
