    ASPCA 24 Hour Emergency Animal Poison Control Center HOTLINEThe ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is staffed 24 hours with veterinary health professionals who have been specially trained in veterinary toxicology. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call the ASPCA 24 hour emergency Animal Poison Control Center hotline at (888) 426-4435. A $65 consultation fee is applied to your credit card.

  • Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center

    The mission of the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center is to provide comprehensive animal control services to our communities for the protection of animals, public health and safety and the environment. Where appropriate, the Center will responsibly place unclaimed animals into new adoptive homes. We provide temporary housing for over 4,000 stray and abandoned animals each year. We respond to nearly 4,500 animal related field calls annually. Our staff and facility provide animal control services to three area cities--Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke. We are one of the largest regional animal control facilities in New England. It is our goal to make this region a model for other animal control services.

    Our primary commitment is to public health and safety. We are well-versed in rabies and zoonotic (transmissible between animals and people) diseases for the safety of our citizens. We respond to animal related calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays.

    Association for Pet Loss and BereavementThe Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association of trained volunteers dedicated to helping people during times of pet loss and bereavement. APLB chatrooms are free and available to anyone bereaving for a beloved pet. (Membership is not required for this.) PLEASE NOTE:  After 11 pm our hospital's front door is locked for security reasons. Simply ring the doorbell to the left of the front door, and our ICU staff will come immediately to aid you and your pet.
