Welcome to our ER/specialty hospital. Please come right in.
This is the waiting room for the ER and specialists. There are a few different spaces so the shy pets can sit by themselves.

This is one of our ER/specialty exam rooms. We can view your pets x-rays right here on the computer screen!
This is our treatment area. We prep for surgery here, perform dentistry procedures, draw blood, place IV catheters, and many other tasks in this room.
This is our ICU. You can see our cages, IV fluid pumps, EKG, defibrillator and a few ill patients.

This is an isolation room where patients with infectious diseases are kept to keep them and the other patients safe. This room has everything a really sick pet may need and has live video and sound right into the ICU so we can keep close attention here.

Here is our in-house lab. We can run bloodwork here and look at slides under the microscope
This is where we take x-rays. We use a digital system so the x-rays go right to a computer and the doctors can use that to help best view the images.

VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility providing 24-hour access to emergency veterinary services and specialty veterinary care for pet owners in western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital is currently staffed with the largest number of critical care and surgical veterinary specialists in the region with access to small animal internal medicine consultations and diagnostic abdominal ultrasound Sunday through Thursday. With years of experience and veterinary expertise in the care of companion animals, our doctors excel in their fields and have devoted their lives to helping pet owners and their pets. And, as pet owners ourselves, we understand that pets '" our dogs, cats, pocket pets and other animals '" are family members so we provide only the most compassionate care at our animal hospital.
In the event of a pet medical emergency, our veterinary facility is open 24/7/365 days a year to assist you and your pet in the event of a crisis. In addition, our hospital offers specialty services by referral, working in concert with your family veterinarian -- simply call to arrange your pet's appointment, and our client care specialists will be happy to assist you.
VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital has been providing exceptional veterinary service to the Springfield area and Connecticut River Valley since its inception in 1959 as a one doctor animal clinic. To meet the needs of pet owners and their pets, we have undergone two major renovations since then - the first in 1980 and the last completed in 2000 - to create the 14,500 square foot, two story, state-of-the-art, multiple service, veterinary hospital that it is today.
