Our Hospital

VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility providing 24-hour access to emergency veterinary services and specialty veterinary care for pet owners in western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital is currently staffed with the largest number of critical care and surgical veterinary specialists in the region with access to small animal internal medicine consultations and diagnostic abdominal ultrasound Sunday through Thursday. With years of experience and veterinary expertise in the care of companion animals, our doctors excel in their fields and have devoted their lives to helping pet owners and their pets. And, as pet owners ourselves, we understand that pets '" our dogs, cats, pocket pets and other animals '" are family members so we provide only the most compassionate care at our animal hospital.

In the event of a pet medical emergency, our veterinary facility is open 24/7/365 days a year to assist you and your pet in the event of a crisis. In addition, our hospital offers specialty services by referral, working in concert with your family veterinarian -- simply call to arrange your pet's appointment, and our client care specialists will be happy to assist you.

VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital has been providing exceptional veterinary service to the Springfield area and Connecticut River Valley since its inception in 1959 as a one doctor animal clinic. To meet the needs of pet owners and their pets, we have undergone two major renovations since then - the first in 1980 and the last completed in 2000 - to create the 14,500 square foot, two story, state-of-the-art, multiple service, veterinary hospital that it is today.
