For your convenience, we accept payments by cash, check, Visa, Master Card, Discover American Express and CareCredit. Payment is expected when services are rendered.

We encourage our clients to ask questions about our fees prior to beginning treatment. We require a deposit at the time of admission for surgery or major hospitalization of your pet and an itemized approximation of the expected charges will be provided to you.

If financial assistance is needed, we offer our clients CareCredit no interest payment plans*. To learn more about CareCredit or apply now, please visit www.carecredit.com/vetmed.

*Please note that not all financing plans on the CareCredit website are available. Please verify with the receptionist which current plans are offered.

Pet Insurance
We will also assist you and your pet with your pet insurance needs (such as Veterinary Pet Insurance). Ask us about VPI Pet Insurance today.

Please bring any claim forms for pet insurance you have on your pet. Although pet insurance is not a form of payment, we will be happy to help you complete your forms and your pet insurance company will reimburse you for any costs they cover.

Emergency Care

Call 708-749-4200 if you have any questions or concern regarding your pet.

We provide emergency care from 8am until 1am seven days a week. We are closed on holidays.

Some symptoms that may indicate your pet may need to be seen on an emergency basis include:

  • Difficulty Breathing and/or pale or blue gums or tongue
  • Heavy Bleeding - apply direct pressure to the wound
  • Major Trauma - if your pet has fallen, been hit by a car or has multiple wounds
  • Gaping Wounds
  • Collapse/Loss of Consciousness
  • Paralysis
  • Lacerations and Bite Wounds
  • Poisoning
  • Infections - or if your pet suddenly gets worse while on medication for an infection
  • Difficulty Urinating - frequent attempts to urinate that don't produce a normal urine flow could indicate infection or obstruction - especially in male cats!
  • Eye Problems - redness, tearing, pain, squinting or eyelid spasms
  • Prolonged or multiple episodes of vomiting or diarrhea
