Visiting/Telephone Policy
Visiting hours for patients in our intensive care unit (ICU) are from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., 7 days /week. Visits may be delayed or shortened from 5:45-6:30 p.m. due to the transfer of patient care to our evening shift. We greatly appreciate if you call after 10:00 a.m. to check on the status of your pet, as this will give our staff the time needed to re-evaluate your pet and to transfer cases to our day shift. Phone calls are welcome until 10:00 p.m. Please be assured that you will be notified of a change in your pet's condition after that time.
Visits are found to be most productive for the patient when they last 20-60 minutes, and a 2-hour visit is the maximum allowed. Please do not take offense if one of our doctors asks you to limit your stay.
Please keep in mind that while you visit, you cannot touch the other patients under our care, and we are unable to tell you about the other patients.
We can have no more than two visitors in ICU at one time, and children under the age of ten are not allowed without special permission.
Thank you for you adherence to these policies. They allow our staff to take the best care of all pets in our hospital and to focus our attention on them!
