  • Top Priority

    -Kathy Limp from Naperville, IL
    Pet Name: Buff

Staff was caring, professional, asked questions and listened to my responses. Dr. Galvao spent time to explain all options and all involved showed that they had Buff's well being as their top priority.

  • Emergency Visit

    -Joyce from Naperville, IL
    Pet Name: Emmy

Pet Image I just wanted to say that it was my first time at the hospital yesterday. And although I had to wait very long the staff was very apologetic. And I do thank them that they do go by the priority of the emergencies that come in. My dog had an emergency with her eye. The doctor that saw my dog was Dr. Nick Kelsey and he was awesome. You can tell that he really wants to make your pet feel better. He was also very informative and loving to my sweet girl Emmy :)♥ So I just wanted to let you know that I would definitely recommend the hospital and Dr Nick Kelsey. Thanks Again for all your help and support.

-Karen and Ken Van Swearingen from Woodridge, IL
Pet Name: Tucker, Tonka, Smooch, Snobear

Pet Image We took our dogs, Smooch and Snobear, to VCA Arboretum View for 10 years, for regular checkups and emergencies, and the staff, and doctors were always top notch. They were so compassionate when we had to say goodbye to them and cried right along with us. Now we have two dogs named Tucker and Tonka who will go there at any sign of an emergency! This is truly a special group of people!

  • Thank You is not enough

    -Julie from Darien, IL
    Pet Name: Buddy

VCA Arboretum View is amazing. We had an emergency with our 11 year old Buddy and spent over two months coming and going for his recovery. The care and genuine love of animals is very clear to see. I've seen them all at their busiest and also when it's slow. No matter what is happening, everyone there treats you like you're family. I am certain that my Buddy was treated with the best care and love. He is almost fully recovered now; solely because of the wonderful people at VCA Arboretum View, and for that, Thank You is just not enough!

  • Loving and Caring

    -Pat from Riverside, IL
    Pet Name: Nessa

We brought our beloved Nessa when she suddenly stopped eating and doing some of the things she enjoyed. The staff at VCA hospital were truly exceptional, from the receptionist who set up my appointment, to the receptionist that greeted us. They were all so very nice and considerate. When we first met Courtney, she sat on the floor and showed such concern and caring for Nessa. She is a truly caring person, with Nessa and with us. Dr Galvao gave us his thoughts on what was occurring with Nessa, did the most thorough exam I have ever seen and then with kindness and caring he explained what his findings were. He laid out a plan as to how we should proceed. He was opened to any question we had, explaining everything to us. He nor Courtney were never rushed or in a hurry to move onto the next patient. They told us step by step what was going to happen. Courtney took Nessa off to have her Ultrasound done, they were so cute walking down the hall together! When Nessa and Dr Galvao and Courtney returned, we received the most disheartening news, it was not good at all, in fact it was devastating. Despite this terrible news, Dr Galvao was honest, concern and truthful as to what we were able to do for Nessa. Unfortunately there was no hope. Dr Galvao's honesty and professionalism was appreciated. He told us to go home and spend our final days with Nessa, and enjoy our time with her. We cried, we tried to understand how could this be, but with Dr Galvao and Courtney's support we were able to leave with Nessa. We spent our final days with our beloved Nessa, she even mustered up the strength to give us a day in which she ate, played and loved us. We arranged to have Nessa euthanized at the hospital and again we were shown the utmost caring. Nessa was treated tenderly, caringly and lovingly by Courtney and Dr Galvao and her final moments were peaceful, quiet and loving. We were never rushed and we were given the time we needed to get through this moment in time. We miss her dearly but the care we were shown helped make this bitter moment easier. We thank you Courtney and Dr Galvao for the kindness and caring you gave Nessa and to us. We will never forget you.

  • Saved our Wriglie Mae

-Janice Jeffery from Villa Park, IL
    Pet Name: Wriglie Mae Jeffery

I wanted to thank VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois for saving our family dog. Wriglie came in as an emergency on 11/17/2014 with some type of ingestion of toxins ... possible anti freeze! Dr. Nicole Gillham started treatment & saved her life. The staff was so kind, caring & explained everything. I was even able to see our dog before we left to say goodnight. This was very scary for her as well as us. Thank you for being so kind & helping us through this terrible time for our family. Our Wriglie is back home & feeling much better. Please make sure you don't have any anti freeze on the ground by your animals .. we are so lucky our dog didn't die!!

  • Attention to Details

    -Lori P. from Shorewood, IL
    Pet Name: Kramer

I contacted VCA (AVAH)....and from the receptionist on to the Internal Medicine staff.....was fantastic...I felt comfortable, no question was a stupid one....I even called twice with other questions. Just from the phone communication made my decision. The attention to details....I loved that Dr. Galvao came in the room and plotted himself on the floor and started chatting with Kramer. I felt so at ease just spending the time discussing Kramer's issues and procedures suggested.
