Animal Specialty Center Pet Loss Support

As pet owners ourselves, we at Animal Specialty Center understand that facing a pet's serious illness or the loss of a pet can be emotionally devastating. To provide pet owners with the help, support and counseling they need to better cope and manage through these very difficult periods, on February 4, 2010 Animal Specialty Center began its no-cost ASC PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUP. The support group sessions are held 7:00'"8:30 PM on the first and third Thursdays of each month at our hospital at 9 Odell Plaza, Yonkers, NY 10701 and are open to the general public -- all are welcome. For further information about attending ASC Pet Loss Support Group sessions, please contact ASC at 914-457-4000. If you plan to attend, you are encouraged to bring along a photo and/or memento of your pet to the session.

Animal Specialty Center is sensitive to our clients and cares about their needs and has a Comfort Room, where pet owners can spend peaceful time with seriously ill pets.

Animal Specialty Center offers a selection of pet loss materials that can be viewed and/or printed by opening the links in our Pet Loss Document Library below. Included is our ASC Pet Loss Support Resources booklet as well as a wealth of information from well known and respected counselors/authors on the topics of bereavement and pet loss. Pet loss support resources can also be found in the 'Community Partners' section of our website under the 'Our Hospital' tab.
