    School: San Jacinto College

    Robin studied accounting at San Jacinto College. She began her veterinary career in 1982 at an Animal Hospital in Deer Park. In 1984 she joined the staff here at Animal Emergency Hospital first as receptionist and then moved to our overnight technician. She became the technical manager and purchaser in 2002. Robin helped manage a Quarter Horse-Boer goat ranch in Rosharon, Texas. She built her home in Brenham where she lives with her dog, cats, turtles, horse and goats.

    Sarah graduated from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston in 2012. She has a Shihtza named "Rylee".

    Yasmin M.

    Yasmin is graduating from Vet Tech Institute in the spring on 2013. She completed her Externship here and did such a wonderful job, we asked her to stay. She has crossed trained to work both technician and reception where our initial triage of patients is so important.

    Joy began her veterinary career in 2001. Joy attended Lone Star college where she obtained an A.A.S. and RVT license.  Joy enjoys lab work and providing lots of TLC to our hospitalized animals. Joy is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two wonderful boys, in their free time they all enjoy fishing. She enjoys working with her wonderful co-workers and catching all the action of the emergency cases.

    School: University of Houston, BA, Interpersonal Communication

    Stacey began her veterinary career in 2008 and attended Vet Tech Institution for veterinary technology where she obtained her RVT and A.A.S. in veterinary technology. She also attended the University of Houston where she obtained a B.A. of Interpersonal communications. Some areas of her job that she really enjoys would include radiology and surgery, but she really enjoys all aspects of the veterinary field. Stacey and he husband have three dogs and one cat (Haus, Princess, Chevelle and Sharkbait.) In their free time they enjoy being outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time at the park with there dogs. Stacey appreciates how rewarding it is to work for an organization that cares for their clients as well as their employees.

    Jodell began her veterinary career in 2001, she attended tech school where she obtained a certification in veterinary technology. Jodell's special interest in her job would be surgery assisting and diagnostics. Jodell and her husband have lived in Texas for 6 years, together they have a toddler, two dogs and three cats. She really enjoys activities such as, ice hockey and cycling in her free time. As a VCA employee, Jodell enjoys working with her fellow co-workers to help make injured and sick animals better.

    Veterinary Tech School: Vet Tech Institute

    Donetta began working in the veterinary field in 2001 in The Woodlands, Texas. She joined our team as a part-time receptionist in 2008. Donetta studied Business Administration at Maryland Community College and also Veterinary Tech Institute where she obtained an associates in applied science and a Registered Veterinary Technician Licensing.  February of 2012, Donetta cross trained both as receptionist and technician. As an employee of VCA, Donetta enjoys working in surgery and trauma along side with a wonderful skilled staff of Doctors, Technicians, Receptionist and Management. She lives with her husband Ben, 3 cats and 1 dog.  Donetta had a special interest in raising Ragdoll Cats for  several years and has always enjoyed the study of feline behavior and medicine.

    Heather B.

    Heather began her veterinary career in 1995 in La Porte, Texas. Heather attended San Jacinto Community College and World School of Massage and Bodywork and received her license as a Massage Therapist. She became an emergency technician in 2005. Heather's interest is in surgery and she would like to pursue Physical Therapy for pets. In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending quality time with her husband, son, 3 cats and 4 dogs. She also enjoys showing her American Pit Bull Terriers as well as competing in obedience and weight pull competitions with them, often traveling long distances for such events.

    Liz began her veterinary career in 2003, she then later attended University of Houston in 2008 and University of Texas Medical Branch class of 2014 School of Nursing. Liz has obtained a BS in Anthropology, BS in Biology and a Life Science Certification.  Between work and school, Liz stays very busy, but when she does have time she enjoys spending it with her pets (Red) a Labrador Retriever, and two cats Luciando and Oscar. Liz has worked for VCA for 5 years and she really enjoys the fast paced environment of the emergency hospital.

    Lisa G.

    Lisa began her veterinary career in 1978 while attending Gannon University in Erie, PA and majoring in Biology and Environmental Science. She worked her way through college at the Northwestern Pennsylvania Humane Society as a Humane Agent and Veterinary Assistant. Lisa became a technician with VCA Animal Emergency Hospital Southeast in Houston, Texas in 2007 and enjoys the many challenges of emergency and critical care medicine, particularly radiology, surgery and patient care. Lisa and her husband Dave have been married for 29 years, have three sons and a daughter and currently reside in Pearland with their cat, Kiwi.

    School: San Jacinto College

    Susanne has 30 years of experience in the veterinary field. In 1994 she joined VCA Animal Emergency S.E. Susanne has attended college for business and has also taken online courses as well. She enjoys being in surgery and taking care of the animals. Susanne resides in Houston with her husband who is also her high school sweetheart. Together she and her husband have 3 sons that are all wonderful, 2 beautiful daughters in-law and one very sweet grand daughter (although she is hoping for more!) :), she also has a few dogs of her own.

    Kim has been working in the veterinary field since Feburary 2007. She joined our emergency team in September 2011. Kim is  a certified veterinary techincian level two and is curretnly working on level three. Kim's passion is her job. She has 13 reptiles that include snakes, lizards and turtles. Rupert is her baby - he is a 4yr old bearded dragon. Since she was five she knew she loved animals and wanted to be in the veterinary field. She is very happy being able to live those dreams and goals.

    Cindy began working in the veterinary field in 1998 at a hospital in Alvin. She joined the emergency hospital in 2001. Cindy attended Houston Community College. She has been married 31 years, has 2 sons, 3 dogs and many cats.

    Darlene M.

    Darlene began her veterinary career in 1986 at a hospital in Alvin where she started as a technician and then advanced to hospital manager. In 2000 she joined Animal Emergency Hospital as the overnight technician. Darlene is the lead technician trainer. She holds several certificates in Dentistry, Nutrition, Laboratory, Pharmacology and other miscellaneous subjects. Darlene has received 2 VCA Recognition Awards. She is a single Grandmother currently raising 1 of her 2 Grandsons, along with 8 cats and 2 dogs. Darlene's specialty is handling aggressive animals (we call her the cat/dog whisperer). She also enjoys assisting in the birthing process.

    Marie began her veterinary career in 2000.  She has been specially trained to work along side with our team of Doctors specializing in critical care. Marie especially enjoys task, such as x-rays and assisting in surgery. She currently has 2 dogs, (Jessie) her Jack Russell Terrier at 1 1/2 years old and (Jade) a Cocker/Dach. mix

    Ben has an English Degree from New Mexico State University. He began his veterinary career in 2009 and joined our hosptial in 2012.

    Barbara F.

    Barbara began her veterinary career in 1977 where she worked for a veterinary clinic in Spring Branch. She has always loved animals, especially horses. She began working here at the emergency hospital in August 1988. Barbara went back to school in 1994 and received her LVN license. She began working at a human medical clinic, but stayed with the emergency hospital part time. Barbara says, "I have met good people here that have been here for many years, our emergency hospital is a fast pace caring place for the love of animals/owners, where employees and doctors get to know each other on a professional level and also as friends. Between my jobs, family, pets and farm, I stay busy, but would not change a thing. All good things are possible through Jesus Christ. That's my story and I'm sticking to it." Barbara specializes in running our lab. Due to the nature of our business, we do all our tests in house.

    Jerry has been in the animal field several years, including zoo work and Police K9 training. He began his veterinary career here at the emergency hospital in 2008. Jerry has a BS Degree in Animal Science from Purdue University. He has 2 grandchildren, 1 dog and 2 cats.

    Charlotte O.
    School: Texas A & M University, Bachelor of Science

    Charlotte began her veterinary career in 2001. She graduated from Texas A&M with a B.A. in biomedical science. Charlotte shows a special interest in parasitology and labroaty work. She especially enjoys reading, riding her bike and spending time with her cattle dog, "Sher Ra." She plans on going back to school to get her masters degree. The exciting surgeries at the clinic captivate Charlotte's attention, she also enjoys sending home happy clients and pets.

    Mallory P.

    Mallory started her veterinary career by volunteering at a local exotic animal hospital after school. She received her certification of veterinary attendants/assistants in California. Mallory joined our team in 2008. She is does great with fostering kittens and puppies and she has parakeet named "Beakers". In her free time she enjoys painting still life with acrylic paints. Mallory enjoys doing lab work and assisting in surgery.

Emergency Care

In case of emergency, please come to our hospital or call us immediately. We are open weeknights from 6pm - 8am and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. We are located on the north-bound (east) side of I-45, just past the Edgebrook exit. Our physical address is: 10331 Gulf Freeway  Houston, Tx 77034. Our phone number is 713-941-8460.

 

North-Bound - Take the Edgebrook exit, stay on the feeder road. Go through the light and we are on the right just past the mexican food restaurant.

 

South-Bound - Take the Edgebrook exit.  U-Turn lane under the freeway, which will put you on the north-bound feeder. We are past the mexican food restaurant on the right hand side.
