On-site critical whelping monitoring for referrals
When a dog gives birth it is called whelping. Simiarly, when a cat gives birth, it can be referred to as queening. Most dogs and cats give birth easily and on their own. Although, with a difficult birth, or dystocia, veterinary professionals must intervene. When managing a dystocia, the dog or cat is administered drugs and carefully monitored until all of the babies are born. In more rare cases, if this is not effective, a cesarean section, or c-section, is required.
