Why does my dog need to go out so often?

If you've noticed that your pet is urinating more frequently this could indicate a health problem. CBS News reports that frequent urination may be related to kidney problems, diabetes or bladder issues. When there is a noticeable change in your pet's urination patterns, you should schedule an appointment at a veterinary hospital to find out what's going on.

Kidney problems may be the reason for your furry friend's need to use the bathroom more often. Aging dogs may develop chronic renal failure, and the early warning signs are frequent urination and increased water consumption, according to VCA Animal Hospitals. If you notice these signs, it is important to get to a pet health professional right away. Kidney tissue does not regenerate and renal failure is not curable. Medical treatment, which may include dog shots, is the best defense to slow the deterioration and help keep your pet comfortable.

A veterinarian will be able to assess your canine companion and figure out the cause for the increase in urination. In many cases, early diagnosis is key to successful treatment.
